About the Pool:

The Somerset Area School District Swimming Pool is a 25 yard, six lane, shallow (3ft 6in)/deep(6ft) facility.  It has recently been renovated including a new roof, walls and a resurfaced deck.  We also have an ADA handicap lift.  Come check it out!   

Lap Swim/Fitness:

The Somerset Area Swimming Pool offers specific times for the public to use the pool for lap swimming and water walking/jogging.  During these hours, only fitness swimming activities are permitted.  There is one lap lane available during most open swim hours and water aerobics.  Please be sure to check the monthly schedule for any changes.  We are here to help you get as much out of the pool as possible, so please ask.

Locker Rentals:

Lockers are available for no cost.  Sign up in the office for a school issued lock and locker.  If your locker is not registered, we have the authority to remove items.  Please be aware that lockers may need cleaned out due to certain circumstances.   

 Providing a safe and fun environment is our number one goal!

Rules of the Pool: 

• NO RUNNING

• NO HORSEPLAY

• NO DIVING 

• NO FLIPS OR SPINNING INTO POOL

• NO FOOD ON POOL DECK

• NO FLOATATION DEVICES IN THE DEEP END

• NO USING THE STARTING BLOCKS

• NO GUM IN THE POOL AREA

• NO HANGING ON THE LANE LINES

• NO GLASSWARE IN ENTIRE POOL COMPLEX

• PROPER SWIMWEAR IS REQUIRED

• CHILDREN NOT POTTY TRAINED MUST WEAR SWIM DIAPERS

• PATRONS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO USE TEAM EQUIPMENT

Disciplinary Procedures:

• FIRST OFFENSE: VERBAL REMINDER

• SECOND OFFENSE: VERBAL WARNING 

• THIRD OFFENSE: 10 MINUTE TIMEOUT

• FOURTH OFFENSE: REMOVAL FROM FACILITY

*LIFEGUARDS HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO REMOVE ANY PATRON NOT FOLLOWING THE POOL RULES FROM THE POOL WITHOUT A REFUND. 

*ANY PATRON WHO IS ASKED TO LEAVE AND DOES NOT WILL BE CONSIDERED A TRESPASSER!

*LIFEGUARDS HAVE THE FINAL AUTHORITY.

Inclement Weather Policy

School Delays and Cancellations:

• No School: Pool Closed

• 2-Hour Delay: No Morning Lap Swim

• Early Dismissal (weather related): Pool Closed for the Remainder of the Evening

• 2-Hour Delay (after pool opening time): Pool Closes Immediately 

• Weekends: At Aquatics Director's Discretion

Thunderstorm Policies:

• Patrons may re-enter 30 minutes after the last sight of lightning or sound of thunder.
